Acceptable Use Policy
The short list of things that would get a StoreRank licence suspended — mostly about not abusing the public endpoints the app depends on.
01Scope
This policy forms part of the Terms of Service and applies to everyone who uses StoreRank. It exists for one practical reason: the application makes requests to Apple’s public endpoints from your machine, and abusive use can get your IP address blocked and harm every other user.
02What the tool is for
- Researching keywords, difficulty and demand for apps you publish or work on.
- Studying publicly visible competitor listings, rankings and metadata.
- Tracking your own rankings over time, in any storefront you sell in.
- Managing Apple Search Ads with credentials you are authorised to use.
- Client work, as long as each seat holds its own licence.
03What is not allowed
Licence misuse
- Sharing, reselling, renting or publishing a licence key, or using one key across more machines than the plan permits.
- Circumventing licence checks, patching the binary, or distributing modified builds.
- Reverse engineering the application other than where the law expressly permits it.
Abuse of upstream services
- Removing, defeating or modifying the built-in request throttling, or driving the application through automation designed to exceed it.
- Running the application through proxy or IP-rotation networks in order to evade rate limits.
- Using StoreRank as the back end of a resold service, API or data feed.
Unlawful and harmful use
- Breaking any applicable law, or Apple’s own terms, in the course of using the Service.
- Infringing anyone’s intellectual property, including copying a competitor’s protected listing content wholesale.
- Using credentials you are not authorised to use, or accessing another developer’s account data.
- Manipulating App Store rankings or reviews through fraudulent means, or supporting anyone who does.
04What happens if this policy is broken
Proportionately, and in this order wherever we can:
- We contact you and explain the problem.
- We ask you to stop, giving you 14 days where the issue can be fixed.
- We suspend the licence if it continues, or immediately where the breach is serious — key sharing, evasion of throttling at scale, or anything unlawful.
- We terminate the licence for repeated or deliberate breach. No refund is due in that case.
Your local project data is never touched by any of this; it lives on your Mac.
05Reporting abuse
If you believe someone is misusing StoreRank — a shared key circulating, a cracked build, a resold data feed — tell us at legal@storerank.app. We follow up on every report and will keep you anonymous.
